This year was a huge booth, almost as big as a small startup. Two imposing pengiuns guarded the entrance from atop pillars.

Cinelerra was 6 months old and Broadcast 2000 was still being shown along side it. This show featured a dual 667Mhz Alpha EV67, which had extremely high memory bandwidth for the PC100 SDRAM of the time. It had 220Gig of SCSI RAID, 8MB of level II cache, and enourmous cooling fans. A 933Mhz Pentium III was also shown. A KVM was used to multiplex a keyboard but not the monitors.

A mess of cables connected the dual Alpha and dual Pentium III to two monitors.

An outboard broadcast monitor displayed output from XMovie using a $10,000 DVS SD station. That card put out an enourmous amount of heat for what it did. Needless to say, the crummy camcorder of the time didn't handle 60hz refresh rates well.
